Pharmacy Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
Pharmacy Technicians work in pharmacies under the direction of the pharmacist. The main responsibility is filling prescriptions according to doctors’ orders for patients. Technicians measure our correct amounts of medications from larger containers to prescriptions.
·         Checking inventories and keeping supplies organized.
·         Receiving and checking in supplies
·         Keep pharmacy work areas clean
·         Helping fill out insurance forms.

Average Salary:
 $15,000 - $25,000


Educational Requirements: 
Students should take math, science especially chemistry and a typing course. A highshool diploma is usually required to begin pharmacy technician training. Two years courses leading to certificate are available at most community colleges. Six month programs are offered at privately operated schools.
