Histology Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:
Histology Specialist includes Histologist Technicians and Histologists. Another name for Histologist is Histotechnologist. The Histologist prepares tissues samples if the patient has a disease, dysfunction or malignancy. They look at the samples through a microscope after and they use a special chemicals to stain the important structures are visible. Histologist performs very complex and advanced procedures than technicians or also they perform management functions. Histologist work in hospitals, veterinary, pharmacy, or research laboratories.Average Salary:
$22,000 - $35,000 (Histologist technicians)
$30,000 - $50,000 (Histologists)
Educational Requirements:
Students should take the hardest high school courses of their
school. Such as science, math, and English.
To be able to become a histologist technician, students must
either earn an associate’s degree in the medical field. Also needs a long term
training program in histopathology lab. They also need to pass a national
examination. To be able to become a histologist you must either have a bachelor’s
degree or one year of clinical internship.
Reflection:
No I wouldn't like to be a histology specialist
because I didn't take the hardest courses in high school.
